naming:

The patches supplied are named in the following way:

diff-<riscstation release id>-<kernel version>-<rmk patch>.gz

'diff-rs1b1-2217-rmk1.gz' is rs1b1 release, for kernel 2.2.17, with
patch 2.2.17-rmk1 from Russell King applied.

application:

first apply the relevant rmk patch to your kernel, then go into the 
kernel directory and type

  cd linux
  zcat <patchname> | patch -p2

or 
  cd linux
  gunzip <patchname>
  patch -p2 < <patchname without .gz>
